MAI engages in sports ministry activities through soccer camps and clinics, international tours and team competition.
Camps/Clinics: Over 3000 youth participated in over 40 MAI soccer camps and clinics around theUSA and internationally. Campers are taught technical skills, team competition, and good sportsmanship through a biblically-based curriculum. Approximately 10% of youth who attend the camps make first time decisions for Christ.
International Tours: MAI uses international soccer ministry tours to reach the lost of this world with the message of salvation. Each year, MAI leads six to 10 soccer tours, comprised of over 100 youth and adult players, around the world sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ and competing against top amateur and professional clubs. The objectives of these tours are to share the gospel and to support local church growth and church planting efforts.
Team Competition: MAI owns three franchises of soccer teams that compete in the United Soccer League (USL) in the USA: Charlotte Eagles Second Division men’s PDL team, Charlotte Lady Eagles W League women’s elite team and the Southern California Seahorses PDL team. The purpose of these teams is to both share the gospel with other team players as well as to train players using a sports ministry curriculum.
